Beginning Weaving with Anne Sammons, January 18 & 25, 2020
IncluThis class will meet for two consecutive weeks
Week one: January 18, Noon - 3:00 pm
You'll learn weaving language: warp, weft, shed, shuttle, selvage, picks, EPI, heddle, and others. You'll learn the process of warping a rigid heddle loom and begin weaving your project. This can be a scarf, a table runner, a shawl, a towel, a pillow, or mug rugs - whatever you want! You'll take the loom home to continue working on your project. Make as many projects as you like over the course of the week!
Week two: January 25, Noon - 2:00 pm
Learn finishing stitches, cutting off the loom, and finishing the fringe. Then we'll celebrate our success! Anne will also demonstrate some different types of simple patterns with the rigid heddle. You'll take your completed, one-of-a-kind project home!
COST: $150 (just the weaving)-$200 (this cost includes 5 oz of home grown, natural, brown or dyed fiber). 5 oz is enough to create a scarf. Additional yarn can be purchased for bigger projects, or use up your stash!
