Dovetail Rivet & Stitch has partnered with Knox College this year to create two internship programs, an education internship and a marketing internship. We have been fortunate enough to work with two education interns who created a set of online STEAM courses for kids ages 7-10 we're offering in the fall!
STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. It is a teaching method much like STEM that stresses critical thinking, applied learning, and the connection between subjects. Adding art helps learned information stick, as it brings an element of applied creativity. It makes learning experiential and engaging, catering to all learning styles.
The courses are designed to be done at home with fun experiments and activities to help students feel connected and engaged after over a year of instability and distance. We're hoping to offer them in fall 2021, so stay tuned for updates here on our website!
